I have always loved funnel cakes! We used to go to the county fair every year when I was little and that was always the first thing I wanted to do…EAT A FUNNEL CAKE!

Last year, a friend of mine posted a picture of funnel cakes on her FaceBook account. It prompted an uproar in my house and I searched for recipes. I found several and used a lot of them, but I have finally modified the recipe to fit our taste.

Here is my recipe for home made funnel cakes:

Ingredients
Servings: Large funnel cakes
Instructions
  1. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Mix wet ingredients in a large bowl and add flour, then all other dry ingredients until batter is smooth.
  3. Pour mix into a gallon sized baggie. Cut one corner of the baggie off to make a small hole.
  4. Pour batter into oil in a criss cross pattern making sure the outside edge forms a complete circle.
  5. Fry for 3 minutes, then carefully flip over with tongs and cook for a remaining 2-3 minutes.
  6. Drain on a paper towel for a couple of minutes then sprinkle both sides with powdered sugar and enjoy!
  7. You can also top with fruit or whipped cream!
