I have made a lot of things from scratch, but none of my recipes will ever get such praise as the home made playdough! OK..maybe the mini brownie sundaes, but those definitely didn’t last as long!

There are a ton of recipes out there for home made playdough, cloud dough, etc. I have used them all, and they are all great, but I think my playdough recipe is the best!

Let me share it with you:

green playdough

1 cup of All Purpose Flour

1/4 cup of salt

1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

2 teaspoons of Cream of Tartar

3/4 cup of water

4-5 drops of food coloring (optional)*

Mix all of you ingredients into of pot or pan and place it over medium-low heat. Mix with a spoon, not a whisk, until it gets sticky and forms a ball. I put mine in the fridge on a plate immediately afterwards to cool it down. This will keep in an airtight container forever!

*This makes about the same amount as 3 normal sizes of playdough, so I leave the food coloring out until afterwards and divide the dough into 1/3 and add a different color to each one. Beware! It’s super messy! use food handlers gloves if you do it this way and don’t want colored hands for the next 24-48 hours!

I am a Christian wife and homeschooling mother of my 3 children ages 12, 11, and 5. I am a hot mess but I somehow manage to accomplish things! I hope I can be an inspiration to someone out there, like so many others have been to me!
