Not only am I a homeschooling mom, I am also a licensed massage therapist and a skin care specialist. I have used a ton of different products on myself and in the spa. I love getting massages. I also love getting facials. I have to say that, by far, my favorite treatment at the spa is a body scrub!

Oh, it just leaves your skin feeling so soft and refreshed! The best part of all is that it can be done right in your home with thing you probably already have!

I make 2 different homemade cheap body scrubs: a sea salt scrub and a sugar scrub.

The sea salt scrub is more course, naturally, and can be used over the whole body but I recommend using it on areas like the feet or knees and elbows that are rough. If your hands are sensitive, I would use gloves to apply it to the other areas just because it will make it a little uncomfortable after a couple of minutes of scrubbing.

The sugar scrub is a lot more gentle and is actually my favorite. I take a little bit to the bath sometimes and use it on my legs and arms. Its awesome!

Guess what you need to make these nearly free replicas of what would cost you $50-$120 at a spa!……

That’s right! Sea salt and sugar! Just mix it in with a little baby oil, enough to make a thin paste texture, and work it over your skin for a few minutes. Rinse it off in the shower and enjoy your new lovely layer of skin! I have used different types of oil as well. They make a lavander scented baby oil or you can get coconut oil….mmm. Coconut oil sugar scrub…add a few drops of lime juice and you will be in heaven! You can also add fresh herbs like lavander or rosemary, squeeze a few drops of lemon, lime, or grapefruit juice in and enjoy!

Try it and let me know what you think!

I am a Christian wife and homeschooling mother of my 3 children ages 12, 11, and 5. I am a hot mess but I somehow manage to accomplish things! I hope I can be an inspiration to someone out there, like so many others have been to me!
